The Scout Association provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for 400,000 young people aged 6-25 in the UK.

A little about the Scout Section

The Scout section is open to boys and girls aged from 10.5 to 14 years of age and offers young people a safe environment to come together, have fun and learn some new skills. The Scouts meet once a week and hold various weekend activities throughout the year, including hike, hostelling and camping. During these meetings, the Scouts will play games and work towards activity badges and challenge awards which are displayed on their uniforms.

Meeting Times

The Scout Section meets every Tuesday night in the Scout Hall on Church Street. The meeting begins at 7pm and finishes at 9pm.

June 2013
The Scouts attended the District Camp at Templars' Park. This was a weekend camp with a medieval theme and involved various activities from Pioneering to Jousting to Sumo Wrestling (OK so not medieval, but it was great fun). Almost the entire troop attended and everyone had a great time. We even managed to win a joint award for the best costumes, for the helmets, shields and tabards. All of which were made the scouts themselves. Everyone at the camp received the outdoor challenge award, emergency aid stage one award, the entertainers badge and did half the work towards the pioneering badge. Well done to all.
